In this paper, in order to find out an effective method of equipment fault detection and maintenance, based on years of experience,combined with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine,summed up a set of the equipment fault detection basic methods of inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, pulse-taking and palpation. And through the analysis of actual case, expounds how to apply this method. According to this method, can basically find out the cause of the equipment problem smoothly, handling equipment failure in time. In today when automation equipment is more and more popular,it has certain significance.
