Should Tsinghua Bamboo Slips Be Named as “Yin Gao”

清华简《尹诰》是一篇非常重要的出土文献。简文原先没有篇题,《尹诰》是整理者后来加上去的。文章认为,篇名的拟定是值得商榷的,首先不能根据几句基本相同的语句就判断文章的篇名;其次就是简文不符合"诰"这种文体;最后这篇简文内容杂乱无章,讲述的不是一件事,貌似拼凑而成。

The Tsinghua Bamboo slips, ＂Yin Gao＂, is a very important unearthed docu- ment. Since there was no title and ＂Yin Gao＂ was named after, whether this name is appropriate is discussed here. It is argued that it should not be named simply because there were similar lines. Furthermore, the content is not a ＂Gao＂ in nature stylistically for it is not about one event but more likely construeted with many pieces.
