摘要
一个国家教育的强大,不仅要有数量足够多的各级各类的学校,有一支庞大的高水平的教师队伍,而且还必须拥有一批教育家,有被世界公认的教育理论权威著作。教育家产生于教育改革的实践,而广大的教师就是教育家的后备队。但是,教师即使是名师,也不能自发地成为教育家,他们必须学习教育理论,钻研教材教法,从实践中逐步形成自己的教育理念,进而成为教育家。可惜,我国迄今还没有世界公认的教育家,也未曾产生中国本土的教育理论。正是出于这个原因,作者才大声呼唤新时代著名教育家的出现,他们将是创建我国新教育的根本保障。
The strength of education in a country is not only measured in terms of a sufficient quantity of universities and schools of various kinds, or a large rank of professors and teachers of high quality, but also a collection of educators, a body of authoritative works on education theory. An educator arises from practices in educational reform, and the large number of teachers constitutes the reserve of educators. However, a teacher; even one who commands fame and respect, does not become an educator automatically. He must study education theories, investigate education texts and methodologies ; through this practice he will gradually form his educational philosophy, and eventually become an educator. Unfortunately, China has not turned out educators of international recognition, nor has it engendered education theories which have an authentic Chinese origin. For this very reason, the author calls for the emergence of famous educators of new time; they will be the basic guarantee for the creation of a new education system in China.
