Seal Character is Tactful and Through

"篆尚婉而通"是唐代书法家孙过庭在《书谱》中关于篆书的论述,意在将篆书与隶书、今草、章草进行比较,简洁而深邃地阐述了篆书"婉而通"这一独特书体的内涵,而非今人把书法的所有形式与内容全部强加于"婉而通"这一论述之中。"婉而通"虽然涵盖了篆书的笔法,尤其是中锋用笔,但其关注的重点则是篆书的线条、篆势、神采气韵等形式与内涵。

＂Tactful and through＂ is calligrapher of Tang dynasty Sunguoting’s brilliant exposition on seal character in book Shupu . Sun intended to compare seal character with official script, cursive script and Zhang Cao . Briefly and deeply , Sun described ＂ Tactful and through＂ the unique feature of seal character. It is inappropriate for our modern people to impose all forms and content of calligra-phy on＂Tactful and through＂ Although＂Tactful and through＂ covers brushwork of seal character, especially a Center with a pen, it fo-cuses on the lines , write seal characters and lively spirit and charm of seal character.
