禅宗强调顿悟成佛,但是慧能及其弟子以及后来的众多禅师都非常重视对佛教经教的学习,这从悟道的因缘上来说是有其深刻的原理在。因此,即使上上根性的慧能及其弟子们也不能僭越。后代禅宗大师们呵佛骂祖的论,有其具体的针对性和目的性,望文生义则往往造成狂禅之歧途。
