Analysis on Chinese Version of News Leads from VOA Bilingual News from the Perspective of German Skopos Theory

以VOA双语新闻网站中新闻导语的汉译文本就研究对象,以德国功能目的理论为指导,探讨以VOA双语新闻网站为代表的双语网站中汉译文本的语言结构特点。研究过程通过建立新闻导语汉译文本语料库和原创新闻导语语料库,并借助Antconc进行对比分析。研究表明,VOA双语新闻网站中导语的汉译文本具有用词丰富程度较低,较多使用高频词,代词显化,虚词显化,主要用星期表示时间,动宾短语和介宾短语容量扩展等特点。汉译文本这些特点与译者翻译中考虑到译入语受众并受原文影响有一定关系。双语新闻的英汉翻译亦采用语义翻译方法,不仅立足原文,还应尽量符合汉语表达习惯,才能更好实现双语新闻网站的预期目的。

In light of the German Skopos theory, the Chinese version of news leads in the VOA Bilingual News website is studied as research object to explore the linguistic characteristics. Two corpora of similar size are estab-lished by collecting translated Chinese news leads from the Bilingual News website www. voanews, cn and the origi- nal Chinese news leads from www. sina. corn and www. gmw. en, and by means of software Antconc, a contrastive analysis is further conducted. The research finds that the Chinese translation in VOA Bilingual News has its own characteristics, such as lower lexical variety, more often use of common words and higher incidence of common words, greater explicitation of pronoun and functional words, expression of time element by weeks, expansion of ＂predicate ＋ object structure＂ and preposition phrases. And the Chinese version showing such characteristics is in-fluenced by such factors as the needs of considering receptors of the target text. Semantic translation is further proposed to apply to Chinese translatioj so that the expected purpose of the website will be better fulfilled.
