摘要
高等学校英语应用能力考试(PRETCO)的目的是对高职生的综合英语应用能力进行评价,并为教学提供及时的信息反馈。但现行的考试并不能真实地反映大学生实际运用英语的能力,不能很好地促进英语教学。文章通过对北京电子科技职业学院的高职生参加高等学校英语应用能力考试的成绩分析,探讨了高职学生参加高等学校英语应用能力考试的现状以及存在的问题,并对如何提高学生参加该考试的成绩和确保实效提出了些教学与管理方面的建议。
The purpose of PRETCO is to evaluate the comprehensive English application ability of higher vocational college students and to provide feedback for teaching.The present test can't reflect the actual ability to use English for higher vocational college students;therefore it can't promote English teaching. Through the score analysis for Beijing Polytechnic, this article probes into the present situation and the problem for PRETCO. It also puts forward some proposals in teaching and management to increase the results of the Test.
