Immunohistochemical Expression of α-catenin in Colorectal Cancer and Its Relations with Biological Behaviors of the Tumor

目的 探讨 α-连接蛋白的表达与大肠腺癌的分化程度、局部侵袭深度、淋巴结转移和Dukes分期的关系。方法 用 SP免疫组化方法检测α-连接蛋白的表达 ,并与临床参数相比较。结果 58.6% (34/58)的大肠腺癌α-连接蛋白表达减低 ,表达减低与癌的分化程度、淋巴结转移和Dukes分期相关 (P分别 <0 .0 1 ,<0 .0 1和 <0 .0 5) ,与局部侵袭深度无关 (P>0 .0 5)。结论 α-连接蛋白在大肠腺癌中常见表达下调 ,可作为淋巴结转移的敏感指标。

ObjectiveTo investigate expression of α\|catenin in colorectal adenocarcinomas and its relationship with differentiation,depth of local invasiveness,lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage of the tumor.Methods α\|catenin expression was evaluated immunohistochemically in 58 paraffin\|embeded colorectal carcinoma and 10 normal colon mucosa specimens.Results In 58.6% (34/58) of the tumors,reduced α\|catenin immunoreactivities were detected and were associated with loss of differenciation,lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage ( P<0.01, <0.01 and <0.05,respectively),but no significant relation was found between α\|catenin expression and local tumor invasion depth of invasion (P>0.05) .Conclusion Down\|regulation of α\|catenin expression is frequent in colorectal cancer.α\|catenin may be a sensitive predictor of lymph node metastasis of this tumor.
