我国是以公有制为主体的社会主义国家，在我国实行市场经济有其理论依据和实践基础，是完全可能的。市场经济与公有制结合的重点、难点在于国有企业的体制改革，建立现代企业制度是公有制与市场经济相结合的有效途径，必须加快建立现代企业制度的步伐。此外，还必须积极探索与市场经济相结合的公有制新的实现形式，以促进我国生产力的发展，加速我国现代化的进程。

China is a socialist country in which public ownership is mainly practised. It is completely possible and has its theoretical and practical basis to carry out market-oriented economy in China. The focus and difficulty of the combination of market-oriented economy and public ownership lie in the economic management system reforms of the state-owned enterprises. To establish modern enterprise system is a useful means to combine market-oriented economy with public ownership, thus the pace of establishing modern enterprise system must be quickened. Moreover, new public-owned embodying forms that are firmly connected with market-oriented economy must be actively explored to propel the development of Productive forces and to acceler- ate the process of modernlization of China.
