Some Comments on Zhou Juntao's Study on Jin Ping Mei

周钧韬先生专事《金瓶梅》研究二十多年,提出了"《金瓶梅》作者王世贞及其门人联合创作""《金瓶梅》时代背景嘉靖""《金瓶梅》成书年代隆庆""《金瓶梅》成书方式过渡说""《金瓶梅》初刻本问世年代万历末年""《金瓶梅》为性小说"等6个新说;完成了《金瓶梅》创作素材来源考证的基础性工程。他的"治学之道"包括"知己知彼,选准研究目标";"高层次加入";"目不斜视、攻其一点,不及其余";"敢于创新,在与权威的论争中创新";"思辨与考证,双向汇流"等。其自言"治学之道"的核心是学好哲学。

Zhou Juntao has engaged in the study on Jin Ping Mei for more than 20 years.Initiatively, he pro-posed that the novel was written by Wang Shizhen and his disciples , the novel was written with the background of the period of Jiajing of the Ming dynasty , the novel was written in the Longqing period of the Ming dynasty , the first carving copy of the novel appeared in the late Wanli period of the Ming dynasty and that Jing Ping Mei was a novel about sex.He fulfilled the fundamental textual investigation into the material for Jin Ping Mei.With respect to the attitude to scholarly research , he thought that one should know himself as well as others , one should accurately choose his goal for study , one should study on a high level and pay attention to an exact topic , one should dare to innovate and make innovations in the discussion with the authoritative scholars; and one should lay balanced em-phasis on intellectual enquiries and textual criticism .He thought that the essence of pursuing studies is to learn phi-losophy well .
