Relations of the safety valve＇s opening pressure, discharge pressure and the pressure vessel＇s working pressure, overpressure limit were discussed, as well as the definition of overpressure limit. The benefit of using the maximum allowable working pressure （MAWP） as the set pressure was also explained. A method to determine the opening pressure during leak test was presented.
