Certification testing of the performance of contra rotating axial flow fan is rather expensive and time consuming. In order to save expense and time, we propose simulation of its internal flow field. Our simulation has two points in common with others: (1) it employs Navier Stokes′s equations, SIMPLE method, and mixed H D scheme; (2) it requires appropriate boundary conditions. Unlike others, we deem it necessary to employ the rather difficult to handle K-ε turbulent model. Calculation results of our simulation for the internal flow field agree quite well with test data, preliminarily indicating that our proposed simulation of internal flow field is effective.
