审美教育,是一门关于创造美和欣赏美的美术教育。美术教育的内容包含艺术创作的美和生活中的美。审美教育的实质在于教育者按照时代的审美理念,借助一定的审美载体,充分施展其引导能力,让学生的性格特点得到全方面的提升和发展,使之成为一个心理结构完善发展的人,审美的人,从而达到个体与社会、自然和谐统一。审美教育具有很强的实践性,美术教育只有在实践中才能得以检验。

Aesthetic education is an art education about how to create and appreciate beauty. Content of art education consists of artistic beauty and the beauty of life. The essence of aesthetic education is that educators in accordance with the aesthetic ideas of the times and certain aesthetic carriers sufficiently display it＇s guidance ability, let students get all aspects of promotion and development of characters and become a person with well-developed psychological structure and aesthetic ability, so as to achieve harmony and unity of the individual, society and nature. Aesthetic Education has a strong practicality, art education can be only tested further in it＇s actual practice.
