中国传统文化源远流长、博大精深,其"天下兴亡,匹夫有责"的爱国主义思想,"天人合一"的宇宙观,"慎独""自省"的道德修养方法,"刚健有为自强不息"的进取精神,都是高校思想政治教育不可或缺的教育资源。高校在对大学生进行思想政治教育时,要遵循和运用传统教育的言传身教的原则、自省的方法、道德教育与知识教育相统一的方法,实现传统文化在高校思想政治教育中的价值。

Chinese traditional culture has a long history and is extensive and profound in content. A lot of elements embodied in the culture ,namely,the patriotism as in ＂ every man has a duty towards his country＂ , the world view as in ＂ man-nature harmony＂ , the method of moral cultivation as in ＂guarding against temptations when all alone＂ and ＂self-exami- nation＂ ,the enterprising spirit as in ＂keeping vigorously promising and working hard to improve oneself＂ and so on and so forth, are all the indispensable resources for the ideological and political edeuation. And colleges and universities are sup- posed to follow and adopt the principle of ＂teaching by precept and example＂ and the method of self-examination in their education by means of unifying education of morality and knowledge so as to realize the value of traditional culture in ideo- logical and political education
