Permanent observation instruments are applied more and more widely in water conversion tunnel construction. Reasonable choice and correct construction of permanent observation instrument not only can save labor costs, but also can ensure safe and stable operation of the project, thereby maximizing project benefits. Practical condition of water conversion tunnel in Dahuofang water conversion stage I project is combined in the paper for introducing model selection and concrete construction method of permanent observation instruments, thereby providing reference for similar projects in the future.
