The Hardship and Timeliness of Shun's Filial Piety

舜孝极其艰难,但对于理解儒家又极其重要,富含深邃的生存时间哲理。舜孝本身的艰难导致辨识此孝的真实性的困难,由此导致了尧测试舜的独特方式和时机化见地。舜孝的前提、实现与后果都与人的时间意识有根本性关联,而禅让与继位也可以通过孝意识的时间性得到一致的理解。

It was very difficult for Shun practice filial piety,yet his filial piety contained deep philosophical meaning,which is of vital importance for understanding Confucianism.The difficulty of Shun's filial piety led to the difficulty in recognizing his filial piety,but his piety was nonetheless borne out and became one of the criteria by which Yao evaluated Shun.The premise,realization,and consequence of Shun's filial piety were all radically related to the human consciousness of time.Meanwhile,the abdication and succession that followed can also be understood through the timeliness of the consciousness of filial piety.
