Dissemination of Taoism through the English Translation of Li Bai's Poems

李白诗歌英译历时近三百年,涉及众多国内外名师大家,相关研究浩如烟海。然而细观之下,研究数目虽繁,思路却略显单一。二十世纪上半期及以前的英译研究常着眼于文字层面,探讨诗体译诗和散体译诗的优劣。二十世纪下半期及之后的研究,着眼点虽从文字层面扩展到文学层面,从对原诗文字内容上升到对其艺术特点的保留和再现;但仍鲜有从文化层面针对李白诗歌中道家思想西传的研究。基于此,文章指出,李白诗歌蕴含的丰富深刻的道家思想是我国更是世界的宝贵精神财富,以其为切入点对李白诗歌英译进行研究,不仅有利于帮助西方读者正确、全面地欣赏和理解李白诗歌,还可以凭借李白诗歌在西方世界已经取得的认可和推崇达到宣传、传播我国优秀传统文化思想的目的。

The English translation history of Li Bai＇s poems dates back to approximately 300 years ago. However, although countless translators and scholars, both domestic and international, have studied this topic, their research perspectives are not so diverse. Those before the first half of the 20th century focused on words, heatedly debating the advantages and disadvantages of translating his poems into western poems or proses ; while since the seeond half of the 20th century, most researchers have adopted the literary perspective in their studies, focusing mainly on retaining and reproducing the original artistic features of Li Bai＇s poems. Unfortunately, the dissemination of round manner, but also popularize traditional Chinese cultures and thoughts by utilizing the dissemination of Taoism as the subject.
