Research on Translating Chinese Public Signs into English in Zhejiang Province

公示语的译文是社会文化的一部分,目前的公示语的翻译出现了很多的问题,影响了其指示、指令和参照等功能,如何采取有效的措施,对公示语的翻译进行净化和统一,使之促进东西方文化的沟通和融合,达到公示语的功能和目的,是一个重要的课题。

The translation of public signs is a part of social culture but currently the translations of public signs has many issues that in-fluence its correct functions such as indications, instructions and references. It is an important task that we should take effective measures to purify and unify the translations of bilingual public signs in order to facilitate the communications between oriental and occidental cul-tures.
