Based on the toxicity of surfactants in domestic detergents, the paper analyzes and discusses the toxicity to aquatic plants and animals, toxicity to soil plants and human toxicity of surfactants, as well as the toxicity of other noxious substance in deter gents, to indicate the water and soil pollution caused by surfactants, and the toxicity to plant, living organisms and human health under different conditions. Therefore, people should have a correct understanding about the toxic effect of surfactants, so as to im prove the reasonable selection and use.
