Japan' s Future Military Development Trends from the Perspective of the New Guidelines

日本基于"安全环境日益严峻"的判断,出台了战后第五部防卫计划大纲,明确了未来10年军事发展的具体方向。具体体现在:在作战对象上将把朝鲜和中国作为主要对手,在发展方针上将努力构建"三大支柱"综合防卫体制,在力量建设上将强化应对岛屿冲突、导弹攻击等事态的作战能力,在作战准备上将突出加强西南地区部署,在作战体制上将向机动化、联合化方向改编,在力量运用上更加突出整体威慑与应对能力。

Based on the judgment that 'the security environment is deteriorating',Japan has issued its fifth defense program guidelines since the end of World War II,which clearly outlines the direction of Japan' s military development in the next 10 years. Namely, to take North Korea and China as major rivals for military combat, to build a comprehensive defense system with 'three pillars'in development strategy,to boost its combat capability to cope with such emergencies as conflicts over the disputed islands and missile attacks,to strengthen military deployment in its southwestern region in preparation for war,to make its troops more mobile and more amalgamated in combat, and to make its troops more deterring and more capable in military operations.
