Pronunciation and Ancient Chinese Language-The Series“zu, cu, su” and“zhu, chu, shu, ru”in Gangu Dialect——Series 5 of Ancient Sounds“jianmu”,“laimu”or“tongniu”

甘谷话中读作[tjv]、[t‘jv]、[jv]、[jv]的一些字,有着与上古汉语极其密切的继承关系,其生成过程,介音-i、-w向辅音靠拢,相关声母颚化是基本特征。甘谷话的这些特点表现出它自身的古老血统,这些语言标本有着十分宝贵的历史价值。

Some characters pronounced [ ]、[ ]、[ ]、[ ] in Gangu dialect have very close inheritance rela-tionship with ancient Chinese, in the forming process of which the head vowels -i, -w move toward consonants and the related palatalization of initial consonant being its basic feature. These characteristics of Gangu dialect reflect the ancient ancestry, and the language samples have precious historic value.
