Curing Difficult and Complicated Internal Medical Disease with Pinellia Tuber Stomach-purging Decoction

《伤寒论讲义》"痞证"中半夏泻心汤(半夏、黄芩、干姜、人参、炙甘草、黄连、大枣),平调寒热,消痞散结,主治寒热错杂,属"和解剂";加减变化出"生姜泻心汤"、"甘草泻心汤"、"大黄泻心汤"、附子泻心汤",适合不同证型痞满证。诸"泻心汤",对寒热错杂、阴阳失调的疑难重病加减应用,效果满意。随着现代科学技术在中医学领域的应用,诸"泻心汤"会得到越来越广泛的应用。

The chapter on abdominal distention in the Lecture of Treatise on Cold-induced Febrile Diseases, demonstrates the Pinellia tuber stomach-purging decoction （ Pinellia, seutellaria, dried ginger , ginseng, honey-fried licorice, coptis root, Chinese date ） has the efficacy of mildly regulating the cold and heat, relieving abdominal distention and removing obstruction, and curing of those disease intermingled with cold and heat, so it belongs to harmonizing medicament. The prescription can be developed into stomach-purging decoction of ginger, licorice, rhubarb, as well as aconite by adding and taking away medicine, or increasing and decreasing dosage, and these decoctions could be applied to different kinds of stuffiness in chest and abdomen. The developed stomach-purging decoctions have satisfying effect in curing of all kinds of difficult and serious diseases caused by imbalance of Yin and Yang. With the application of modern scientific and technology in the Traditional Chinese Medicine, the above metioned stomach-purging decoctions will be used more and more widely.
