In this globalized world in which we live, the rapidity at which the enterprise of second and foreign language learning and teaching, and of course, by extension, research on second language acquisition (SLA) or foreign language or second language (hereafter refereed to as L2) learning and teaching in general, is an amazing phenomenon. It is particularly the case in China, where exponential numbers of students learn English as a foreign language (EFL) at various levels.
