Discussion on the Earliest Study of Comparative Librarianship in China

回顾19世纪末至20世纪30年代中国比较图书馆学术史,分析了这一时期中国比较图书馆学研究的主要特点,指出中国比较图书馆学研究最早始于1894年郑观应的《藏书》,它比美国相关的研究论文早了61年。中国是世界上最早开展比较图书馆学研究的主要国家之一。

Reviewing the academic history of Chinese comparative librarianship from the end of 19th century to 1930s,the paper analyses the main characteristics of Chinese comparative librarianship study in the period.It points out that the earliest Chinese comparative librarianship study dated back to Zheng Guanying’s Collection of Books in 1894,which was 61 years earlier than the related study in U.S.A.China is one of the earliest countries which studied comparative librarianship in the world.
