DENG Xiaoping's Contributions to Socialism with Chinese Characteristics

邓小平强调坚持社会主义,首先要搞清楚什么是社会主义。贫穷不是社会主义,社会主义的根本任务是发展生产力。实现共同富裕,才能体现社会主义优越性。坚持社会主义道路是对社会主义充满信心。从社会主义初阶阶段的实际出发,探索和开辟中国特色社会主义道路。邓小平强调马克思主义是科学。在改革开放中坚持和发展马克思主义,创立了邓小平理论。邓小平强调我们通过改革体制完善社会主义制度。改革是社会主义制度的自我完善。

DENG Xiaoping believed that we must know what socialism is before deciding to adhere to it. Socialism is not e- qual to poverty,its fundamental task is to develop productive forces. Only by achieving common prosperity can the advantages of socialism be displayed. Adherence to socialism means confidence in socialism. We should explore and open roads to socialism with Chinese characteristics by proceeding from the fact that we are still at the initial stage of socialism. According to DENG, Marxism is science. By adhering to and enriching Marxism in reform and opening--up,he established DENG Xiaoping Theory. He stressed that we can improve the socialist system by reforming the system. Reform is the self--perfection of the socialist system.
