知识是连接教学双方的媒介,没有知识的参与,真正的教育活动便不可能发生,因此,知识对教育的发展必然要产生作用。知识对教育发展的作用方式是由知识的特点决定的。就教育发展的历史来看,知识不仅决定教育的形成,也对教育的发展和变化产生重要作用。这种作用既可以体现在专职教师的出现、专门教育机构的形成等方面,也可以体现在教育形式的演变以及教学内容的变更等方面。知识能够影响教育的发展,但并不能完全决定教育的发展过程,因为教育是一个复杂的社会系统,有其自身的规律性。

Education is the medium linking teaching and learning. Real educational activities will not happen without the involvement of knowledge, so knowledge is sure to play a role in the development of education, but how it plays the role is determined by the characteristics of knowledge. In terms of the history of educational development, knowledge not only determines the formation of education, but plays an important role in the change and development of education. Such a role will be played in such aspects as the appearance of full-time teachers, the setup of special educational organizations, the evolvement of educational forms and the changes of teaching contents. Knowledge can influence the development of education, but can＇ t fully determine the its developmental course because education is a complex social system which has its own law.
