20世纪80年代以来中国旧地方志目录编撰再次出现繁荣局面,不仅数量多,而且质量不断提高。全国性方志目录著录数量和收藏单位增多,并出现了提要式目录;区域性方志目录编撰得到进一步发展,其中提要式目录最为繁荣,产生了一批优秀著作;馆藏方志目录进一步扩展,南方和西部一些图书馆加入方志目录编写的行列;前代旧志得到进一步关注,产生了一些具有特殊功用的旧志目录。

Since the 1980s,there has been a boom once again in the compilation of bibliographies of old China local records,with not only increases in quantity,but also continuous improvements in quality.The number of nation-wide local records catalogues and collection institutions increased,and summary catalogues emerged;the compilation of regional local records catalogues further development,among which summary catalogues were the most popular,and a batch of excellent works were created;local records catalogues in library collection further expanded,and libraries in the southern and western region joined in the compilation of local records catalogues;and old local records in former era got further attention and some catalogues of old local records with special functions were created.
