Children-at-play paintings are very popular in the Song Dynasty porcelain decorations. At that time as the economy in the cities saw its boom and the civilian class grew rapidly, children became the much preferred object for artistic creation, as a result, the paintings that depicted the children at play developed very fast. The paintings, having recorded children games in ancient China, are of much value in the research on sports cultural implications and manifestations in China.
