Graham Swift is a contemporary British writer. His novel Last Orders is a story about a journey in which four people honor their friend＇ s last request to toss his ashes in the ocean. This paper applies Gilles Deleuze＇ s philosophies of life to generate further dialogue on Last Orders. By focusing on how the works remove the sadness of death; deeper meaning of the novel is unveiled： no matter in life or death, every person equally deserves the right to uphold their dignity.
