Choosing the Road of New- type Urbanization in the Urban Agglomeration of Central and South Liaoning

辽中南城市群是东北地区重要的经济增长极和发展引擎,是辽宁省经济活动最集中、最活跃的城市区域。传统的城市化发展模式,导致城市群内非均衡发展,加剧了两级分化,各城市累积的社会矛盾日益尖锐,可见大城市推进型的城市化已经无法持续。因此辽中南城市群必须走新型城市化之路,由外延式城市化转向内涵式城市化。

The urban agglomeration of Central and South Liaoning is the important economic growth pole and development engine , and the urban region where the economic activity is the most concentrated and dynamic area .Traditional urbanization model resulted in disequilibrium development and increasing po -larization among urban agglomeration .Social contradictions in the cities are becoming more acute , so the urbanization which is pushed by large cities is unsustainable .The urban agglomeration of central and south Liaoning has to choose the approach of new -type urbanization ,and transform extensive urbaniza-tion into connotative one .
