The definition and types of rutting is introduced firstly and then the causes of rutting, the main fac- tors influencing the rut depth and the main measures of reducing rutting are discussed in the paper according to the situation of rutting disease on highway asphalt concrete pavement in Shaanxi province in recent years, which pro-vides instructive advice and references for the highway construction and maintenance management in the future.
