Radiation-induced lung injury is the most common complication induced by radiation therapy for chest cancer, which can not only reduce the local control rate of tumor but also seriously affect the patients' life quality and survival, and it has becomed one of the main factors restricting the increasement of target dose. Therefore, preventing and avoiding the occurrence of radiation-induced lung injury is crucial to improve efficacy of radiation therapy. This paper introduces recent related studies on radiation-induced lung injury and advances in this area, providing the theoretical basis of more preferable preventive strategies for radiation-induced lung injury and exploring more safe and effective radiation technologies.
