摘要
孟子"距杨墨"的异端批判意识有着丰富而又复杂的思想内涵:一方面,孟子强调切入事件之前要"知其罪",投身事件之中要"距其非",结束事件之后要"恕其过";另一方面,"杨墨"是个变项,所有背离孔子之道的异端思想均可填入其中,孟子由此把距杨墨与禹抑洪水、周公兼夷狄、孔子成《春秋》联系起来,确立起"距杨墨"在儒家思想史上的权威地位。基于这一异端批判意识具有包容性与独断性的矛盾两重性,我们需要崇尚真理、拒斥谬误,对此予以创造性的转换。
Mencius＇s critical awareness against＇ heretical doctrines held by YANG Zhu and MO Di conceives rich and complicated ideas. On the one hand,he lays emphasis on ＂knowing one＇s misconducts＇before looking into the matter per se,＂re- sisting one＇s errors＇while dealing with the matter and ＂forgiving one＇s faults afterwards＂ ;on the other hand, YANG and MO is but a variable：anything that goes off from the Confucian ideology falls into the slot. Mencius therefore associates the re- sistance with YU＇s （the reputed founder of the Xia Dynasty, c. 21st-16th century B. C. ）Flood Control,The Duke of Zhou＇s （b. 1100 B. C. ）annexation of the surrounding minority tribes and Confucius＇s accomplishment of The Spring and Autumn Annals to establish the authoritative status of ＂resistance against YANG and MO＂in the history of Confucian ideology. Bases on this conflicting duality of tolerance and dictatoriality from in the critical awareness of heretical doctrines, the present author advocate for appealing to truth, resisting errors and hence giving creative transformation.
