英汉新闻特写中元话语使用之对比研究

A Comparative Study of the Use of Metadiscourse Between English and Chinese News Features

本研究选取英汉新闻特写各10篇建立小型语料库,对比研究这两种语篇中元话语使用的异同。大体采用Hyland和Tse的元话语分类框架,首先鉴别出语料库中的所有元话语,然后统计其数量和频率。基于英汉语言文化特点对比分析英汉新闻特写中元话语使用的异同及原因,以期为英汉新闻特写的读写译提供有益指导。

In this paper, a small corpus of news features including 10 in English and 10 in Chinese is established to make a comparative study of the use of metadiscourse between these two kinds of texts. According to Hyland and Tse＇ s classification of metadiscourses, this paper identifies all metadiscourses in the corpus, calculates the numbers of frequency of each type of metadiscourse and explores the similarities and differences of metadiscourse application in English and Chinese news features according to the characteristics of both languages in the hope of shedding some enlightenments on news reading, writing and translating in both languages.
