Guided by Multimodal Discourse Analysis on the basis of Systemic Functional Linguistics , the study intends to inter-pret a poster of the 31th peony culture festival of Luoyang from the perspective of visual and verbal modes , and to explore language and image symbols in the poster how to implement intersemiotic complementary in multimodal discourse analysis , to participate in meaning expression and construct social reality , and influence audience ’ s ideology .
