中国商人至外蒙进行旅蒙贸易始于清康熙年间,并取得巨大发展。但是,民国时期,随着外蒙古独立等政治事件影响以及外蒙在政治上采取亲俄(苏)政策,对中国内地与外蒙贸易带来较大冲击,并逐渐走向衰败,至1932年后几乎完全断绝,这也标志着中国内地与外蒙的旅蒙贸易的终结。
