演歌是日本的传统艺术之一,是日本独有的歌曲种类。日本人甚至将其称为日本人的灵魂、日本人心灵的故乡,足见日本人对其喜爱程度。演歌大多是用敏锐的感觉去捕捉、去感受琐事、民俗、自然和情感,是人的真情实感的流露,体现出了"物哀"的传统美学对日本文艺的影响。物哀也形成了日本演歌独特的美,从演歌的歌词、旋律、演唱都可以体现出来。

Enka is one of the traditional arts and is only found in Japan. The Japanese even call it soul of Japanese, the hometown of the soul, which testifies the love that Japanese have for it. Most of enkas use the sharp feelings to perceive, understand trifle, folklores, nature and emotions, which are the embodiments of true feelings and the influence of traditional athletics on Japanese art. Enka also has its own features in lyrics, rhymes and singing.
