Influence of Population Security on Regional Sustainable Development in Border Areas——A case study of Yanbian

区域可持续发展是在人口、资源、环境、经济相互协调的前提下实现的一种发展,人口安全对区域可持续发展起着重大的影响作用。边境地区的特殊性使得边境地区有着独特的人口安全特征,这些特征都在不同程度上影响着延边地区的可持续发展。为此,延边地区必须加强调整计划生育政策,以稳定人口数量;积极推进养老改革,应对人口老龄化;通过多种手段发展区域经济,吸引迁移人口;保持人口安全平衡,以促进区域可持续发展。

Regional sustainable development is subject to a mutual coordination among popula- tion, resources, environment and economy, and population security plays a major role in the development. As population security in border areas has unique features, it influences the sustainable development greatly in Yanbian. Therefore, measures should be taken as follows： to adjust the birth control policy and stablize the population; to actively promote pension reforms and deal with the problems of aging population; to develop regional economy rapid- ly so as to attract more migrants and keep the balance of population security.
