Re-investigation of Historical Materials on Tse-chien Tai

戴志骞是中国近代第一代图书馆学家,是中国图书馆事业的先驱。该文利用第一手资料,对目前有关戴志骞研究的资料进行辨析,考述他在童年、少年、青年时期的学习情况,在圣约翰大学、清华学校的任职经历,两次赴美留学以及在中国银行的工作经历,系统梳理有关他的生平史料,澄清现有研究中有误或含糊不清的观点、史实和结论。

Tse-chien Tai, one of the first library science scholars in China, was the pioneer of librarianship. Based on the first-hand historical materials, the paper analyzes the present research Chinese articles on Tse-chien Tai, and attempts to identify his educational background and working experience in St. John＇s University, Tsinghua College Library and Bank of China. The paper also dispels those improper or vague viewpoints and conclusions of current researches related to Tai, which is helpful for further studies.
