在汉娜?阿伦特看来,人应该是复数的存在,而不是单个的、整齐划一的存在。和生命以及世界性的境况相比,复数性是最能体现人之为人的尊严以及和政治联系最紧密的行动的境况,这和亚里士多德的"人天生是政治的动物"的观点有异曲同工之妙。但是,随着"社会"的出现,复数性的境况遭到严重的威胁,生命成为至善,行为代替行动。
