摘要 The International Conference on RARE EARTH MATERIALS (REMAT), which was organized in Wroctaw in Poland on 26-28 April, 2013 for the third time has undertaken the most recent aspects of novel rare earth materials, their applications and the problems with Rare Earth Elements (REE) supply. The conference was divided into three thematic sessions in which the leading issues were: the recycling of materials containing rare earth ions, mining these rare earth metals and the application of their ions in optical and magnetic materials. It showcased the latest research and advances in both the academic and commercial aspects of rare earths. The conference hosted researchers, engineers, governmental officers and company delegates from all the fields of rare-earth industry. They were invited to gather, present and share the results of their work in these areas and discuss future strategies for different types of progression in this area of industry. This year special emphasis was focused on problems related to resources, separation, production and recycling of lanthanides.
