Although Strange Tales from Liaozhai is a collection of short stories, many place names involved are not sheer fic- tion, but documentarily authentic. Contemporary annotators must be cautious in order not to mislead readers and baffle their understanding of plots of the book. Based on two kinds of full versions with notes and many kinds of selected versions with notes of"Strange Tales from Liaozhai", this paper discriminates three cases which need re-correcting. First case is to amend the missing and negligence of every kind versions with notes. Second is to discuss some questionable comments. Third is to point out the place names that Pu Songling may have misused.
