摘要
语言景观是社会语言学中一个新兴的研究领域,着重考察公共空间中各类语言标牌的象征意义。现实世界中的语言景观通过语言与空间的互动反映并塑造族群的权势和地位。本文综合考察语言景观研究的背景、研究方法、理论视角、发展前景及挑战等,全面展示这一领域的研究概况。国内的语言景观研究尚处于起步阶段,本文的综述可以为国内的相关研究提供参考和借鉴。
The study of linguistic landscape,as an emerging field of sociolinguistics,mainly explores the symbolic meanings of linguistic signs displayed in public spaces.The linguistic landscape in the material world demonstrates and shapes the power and status of ethnic groups via the interactions between language and space.This paper makes a comprehensive overview of the background,methodology,theoretical approaches,prospects and challenges in linguistic landscape studies in order to provide readers with a holistic picture of this popular area of linguistic inquiries.Its exploration in China is still in its initial stage,and this overview may serve as a reference for relevant research.
