小柴胡汤是《伤寒论》中和解少阳、枢利气机之代表方剂,由于少阳位于半表半里之间,内系胆及三焦,涉及病位广泛,病证繁杂,且小柴胡汤方寒热并用,具有表里同治,升降相因,宣通内外的作用。临床上小柴胡汤不仅可以治疗伤寒少阳病,而且对心血管系统中的病证亦具有调治、缓解作用。

XiaoChaihu Decoction is the representative prescription of relieving shaoyang disorder and regulating Qi-movement in Treatise on Febrile Disease. Shaoyang has the manifestations of half exterior and half interior. It is connected with gallblad- der and triple energizer. The disease has complex symptoms. XiaoChaihu Decoction can treat both manifestation and root cause of disease with heat and cold treatment. It can also regulate Qi-movement and dredge the stasis. XiaoChaihu Decoction can not only treat Shaoyang disease but also has the function of regulating and relieving the syndromes of cardiovascular diseases.
