MicroRNA (miRNA)is a novel type of non-coding RNA which can play very important roles in regulating gene expression. Early studies found that miR-150 is a 22 nt non-coding RNA, and located on Chromosome 19. It plays key roles in immune system, hematopoietic system progressive, embryonic development and stem cells differention by regulating the expression of its target mRNA. Recent investigations suggest that miR-150 expresses abnormally in different diseases. This reveals that miR-150 is closed related to the occurrence and development of many diseases. This article reviews the effect of miR-150 in human normal physiological processes, its abnormal expressions inducing changes in body and the possible mechanism involved.
