Objective: To explore effects of nociceptive coldon cerebral cortical activation during intraoral stimulus with water with functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI). Methods: Six healthy volunteers were selected to receive 4℃ water intraoral stimuli through water-delivery, and block designed and blood oxygenation level-dependent (Bold) fMRI scan covering the whole brain were carded out. And 23℃ water L is as a control. Result: There was rebust activation in orbitofrontal cortex among 6 volunteers. Conclusions: The research show orbitofrontal cortex, which is related to human affective/emotion of pain, is activated by nociceptive cold during intraoral stimuli with water.
