Nature helper cells (NHC) are recently discovered in rats with type 2 innate lymphocytes (ILCs2). NHC originated in the bone marrow lymphoid progenitor cells, were differentiated from iNH cells, and were in the final stage of differentiation. These cells were mainly located in the fat associated lymphoid clusters intraperitoneal fat-asso- ciated lymphoid cluster (FALC) and lung tissues, in terms of their shape and characteristics, they have the similarity with lymphocytes. Their surfaces highly express-kit, sca-1, IL-7R, but lack of lineage markers. After the action of different simulative signals, NHC can produce corresponding Th2 type cytokines such as IL-5, IL-6, and IL-13, then adjust to produce IgA antibodies and help B1 cell to self-renew. A large number of IL-5 and IL-13 secretion of NHC can promote hyperplasia of eosinophilic granulocytes and goblet cells, and promote the secretion of mucus, participate in allergic reactions and respiratory tract inflammation and play a key role in the process to resist parasitic infection.
