The Reform and Opening-up Policy is the Definite Implication of Marxism:Some Reflections on Comrade Li Ruihuan's The Viewpoints and the Sayings

李瑞环同志在新著《看法与说法》一书中,运用马克思主义的基本原理和方法,阐述了改革开放的目的、性质、内涵和意义,分析了改革过程中出现的问题,评价了改革开放的成效,阐述了改革发展稳定的关系。同时,李瑞环同志强调,要用马克思主义的基本观点和方法看待和处理改革开放中出现的问题,就必须培养良好的学风,理论联系实际,做到学以致用。这些论述深刻地阐明了改革开放与马克思主义基本原理之间的内在联系,为当前中国的新一轮改革开放提供了重要的理论依据和思想支持。

In his new book The Viewpoints and the Sayings, comrade Li Ruihuan uses the fundamental principles and methods of Marxism to analyze the ends, nature, implications and significance of the refol^n and opening-up policy. He also analyzes the problems emerged during the reform and opening-up policy, evaluates the achievement of it, and states the relationship between reform and development on the one hand and stability on the other. Meanwhile, he emphasizes that if we want to understand and deal with the problems emerged during the reform and opening-up policy with the fundamental principles and methods of Marxism, then we should develop a good ethos of studying, and to he able to relate the theory to the practice. These arguments explain the internal relationship between the reform and opening-up policy and the fundamental principles of Marxism. They provide important theoretical foundation and support for the new round of China＇ s reform and opening-up policy.
