Through introducing the design of volunteer service station in 2011 Shenzhen Universiade, the study shows the importance, in design innovation, of cross-border thinking, which include the cross of arts and technology, the mixture of fashion and architecture. As the representation of the city, city furniture needs a more humanized design and a more intelligent image. The cross-thinking in the process of design innovation means to use more technology in modeling, and to add energy conservation in the furniture. This will bring the audience additional enjoyment better than only visual function.
