The poem Almond Blossom is one of the most representative pieces in Lawrence＇ s poem collection Birds, Beasts and Flowers. Through rhetorical devices such as personification, symbolism, metaphor, contrast and analogy, novel and distinctive images, defamiliarized language, and a series of conceits, Lawrence succeeds in perceiving and discovering in this poem a brand new world of the almond tree and its blossom, subtly constructing a close link be- tween the object and the subject, and smoothly completing a metaphorical writing of his poetic life.
